This program is for anyone in the Red Deer region facing employment barriers. 

Eligibility:

  • Currently unemployed or underemployed

The Province of Alberta is working to provide employment support programs and services.

Ballad’s training facility offers a range of job preparation workshops, as well as hands-on experience in hospitality and carpentry.

Our facility includes a large shop space, as well as hotel spaces such as a reception, kitchen, and bedrooms so that participants can perfect their skills.

Hospitality Program with training in:

  • Food & Beverage
  • Guest Services
  • Housekeeping
  • General Maintenance


Shop Program with training in:

  • Carpentry
  • Construction
  • Safety Certifications
  • Forklift & Skid Steer Certification


Agriculture Program (with Olds College) with training in:

  • Introduction to Agricultural Sector
  • Common Livestock Production
  • Common Field Crop
  • Non-Field Crop
  • Engine Fundamentals
  • Ag Equipment Operations
  • Arboriculture
  • Welding Fundamentals
  • Electrical Basics


Participants of the program will have access to support including:

  • Monthly living expenses
  • Professional services (Psychologist) 
  • Support with transportation. 
  • Supplied work wear
  • Over 30 employment workshops including:
    • career planning
    • stress management
    • overcoming career obstacles 
    • effective communication
    • financial management
    • health & wellness
    • and safety certifications
