This program is available for Alberta residents who are:
- A Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada
- 18 years of age or older
- Unemployed or working less than 20 hours per week
- Collecting Employment Insurance, or have collected in the last 5 years
- Out of post-secondary or equivalent for at least 1 full calendar year
- Interested in obtaining a full-time career in warehousing, distribution and/or logistics in the supply chain industry
- Dedicated to 12 weeks of in-class training, to successfully obtain the CITT Canadian Transportation & Logistics Fundamentals Micro-Credential, as well as two credits (Logistics Processes and Transportation Systems) towards the CITT-certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) Designation
- Committed to completing a 4-week work experience following in-class training
- Located in the Calgary area

Courses start three times per year in September, January and April.
The Province of Alberta is working in partnership with the Government of Canada to provide employment support programs and services.
Ballad has designed an innovative training program that directly responds to industry needs. The 16-week Fundamentals of Supply Chain Logistics Training Program will prepare participants for meaningful employment in the rapidly changing supply chain sector with the skills they need to pursue careers and succeed in the supply chain industry.

Curriculum Overview
- Focus on inventory, warehouse, and logistics, addressing the core facets of Supply Chain Operations.
- Soft skills development modules cover career path analysis, resume building, interview preparation, and networking strategies.
- Workplace safety certifications, including WHMIS, TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods), and forklift ticket.
- Practical Work Experience: participants undertake 2 to 4 weeks of practical Work Experience with our industry partners, ensuring graduates are job-market-ready.
Professional Certifications
- The program will lead to CITT Canadian Transportation & Logistics Fundamentals Micro-Credential and two credits toward the CITT-Certified Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation from the Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT).

- 12 weeks in class + 4 weeks of Work Experience = 16 weeks total.

- Work Experience: The practicum is an optional part of the course where employers have the opportunity to employ a participant for up to 2-4 weeks probationary period with pre-arranged WCB coverage from Ballad at no cost to the employer. When the practicum is completed the employer has the option to extend an offer of employment at their discretion.
